AcoustiClip Timber Ceiling System combines products that reduce airborne and vibration sound through timber joist ceilings. The AcoustiClip absorbs impact/vibration sounds that transmit through the joist. Acoustic insulation reduces sound resonating inside the ceiling joist and increases its mass. Two layers of soundproof plasterboards, one layer pre-laminated with mass-loaded vinyl for extra absorption, further increase the ceiling’s density. The AcoustiClip Timber Ceiling System provides the best noise reduction levels without building a secondary independent ceiling. These soundproof kits offer great value as they are discounted compared to buying the materials individually.

The AcoustiClip Timber Ceiling System offers the highest level of noise reduction in your home. The system minimises airborne and impact sound transmission through timber joist ceilings. Combining the AcosutiClips for decoupling and isolating the ceiling with high-mass and sound-absorbing materials, this soundproof system effectively restores quiet to your home.

All AcoustiClip soundproof systems combine products with high mass, excellent sound absorption, and the decoupling effect of the AcoustiClip. The acoustic kits include the AcoustiClip and AcoustiChannel, acoustic insulation slabs, two layers of soundproof panels, a 15mm soundproof plasterboard, denser than standard board, and the 18mm Noisestop 1 Plus Panel. This panel features a 10kg mass-loaded vinyl acoustic membrane pre-bonded to the acoustic plasterboard. Additionally, the systems include acoustic sealant tubes to ensure effective acoustic sealing of the boards.

Note: Every 10 decibels(dB) reduction in noise level is roughly perceived as a halving of the perceived loudness. So, for instance, if you have a sound that measures 70dB and it decreases to 60dB, it would sound about half as loud to the human ear. Decibels Explained.

• Remove the existing ceiling to expose the ceiling joist.
• Fill the cavity between the joists with the 100mm DFM acoustic insulation slabs. If cut larger than the opening, the acoustic slabs will friction fit.
• Screw the AcoustiClip into the ceiling joists. Space the clips across the joists to a maximum of 900mm (every other joist) and 150mm from the edge of the wall. The maximum space between the AcoustiChannel should be no more than 600mm (see the diagram below)
• Clip the AcoustiChannel into the clips, join the lengths of the channel by overlapping them by 100mm and screwing them together with self-tapping or drywall screws.
• Screw the 15mm soundboard into the AcoustChannel using 25mm self-drilling screws and then the Noisestop 1 Plus Panel 18mm over the first layer using 50mm self-drilling screws. Leave a 2-3mm gap around the ceiling’s perimeter to reduce noise transfer into the adjoining walls.
• Acoustic sealant is applied between each of the acoustic panels and to the perimeter of the ceiling to ensure an airtight seal.
• Finish the system the way you would finish standard plasterboard. The panels are supplied with tapered edges, which allows for dry lining or plastering.

Spacing the AcoustiClip & AcoustiChannel

• Maximum 600mm centers between the AcoustiChannel
• Maximum 900mm centres between AcoustiClips along the AcoustiChannel
• Maximum 150mm from the centre of the AcoustiChannel and the wall
• Ensure the end of the AcoustiChannel does not contact the wall

Fitting

Due to the nature of most of the materials we supply, orders are typically delivered on pallets.

All orders will be wrapped, protected, and secured to the pallet to ensure they arrive in the best possible condition. Goods will be delivered as near to the property as possible. The drivers will not be able to carry orders into your property.

Deliveries are made between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Once an order has been placed, you will be notified of the expected delivery date. Please ensure someone is available to sign for the delivery.

We charge a flat delivery rate of £60 plus VAT for palletised deliveries. We do not charge per pallet, no matter how many pallets are used to deliver your order.

Orders placed for items weighing less than 20kg will be sent via courier for £20 plus VAT.

We have a high stock level and typically deliver orders in approximately three to four working days.
